As a representative of award-winning enterprises, Quzhou New Energy was invited to the special session “100% Renewable Electricity” at the Carbon Expo, co-hosted by the China Association of Industrial Energy Conservation and Clean Production and multiple industry associations & research institutions. During the roundtable dialogue, the company shared its strategic thinking and practical challenges regarding high-quality, rational renewable electricity consumption, further highlighting its outstanding influence in the industry and sustainable development space.Since Huayou set the target of achieving 100% clean power for its battery material segments by 2035, Quzhou New Energy has taken the lead in delivering results. It adopts a two-pronged approach: self-built distributed photovoltaic power stations and procurement of Green Electricity Certificates (GECs), having fulfilled the 100% renewable electricity target for three consecutive years. At present, the company’s self-owned PV facilities generate over 8 million kWh of electricity annually, and it has consumed more than 509,000 domestic GECs in the past three years.Meanwhile, the company has embedded energy conservation and carbon reduction into every link of production and operation. It advances all-round decarbonization through process optimization, equipment innovation, digital & intelligent precise regulation, waste heat recovery, green procurement and other measures. These combined efforts have cut carbon emissions by over 300,000 tons of CO₂ equivalent, effectively lifting economic output per unit carbon emission and realizing the core value of carbon productivity—empowering high-quality development via superior carbon efficiency.Looking ahead, Huayou will continue to coordinate the greening of energy mix and low-carbon transformation of production processes, fully implementing the development path of “manufacturing green products with green power”. The Group will actively explore more diversified zero-carbon energy systems, scale up R&D investment in carbon reduction technologies, advance full-lifecycle carbon neutrality, and strive to deliver a replicable, highly efficient “Huayou Solution” for the global lithium battery materials industry.
